Aug.29,2009Here I am, back in the reality we call USA. My 11 day pilgrimage to Peru proved to be enlightening and a bit of a physical challenge. If ever you visit the Andes mountains, remember that the oxygen levels are not the same everywhere. I believe the ancient peoples had legs & lungs of steel!*LAUGHS* Ahhh… the Peruvian people prove that living off the land, in harmony with nature can still be done. I would love to go live with a family in the Urubamba River Valley for a month to see what it is truly like to live it. Alpaca fur is a very popular textile, especially the baby’s fur is super soft. I hear the meat is good, but I couldn’t eat it, their face is too cute!
My 11 days were jam packed with ancient sites, ritual experiences and cultural collaberations. My love of adventure & of new and different experiences was thoroughly quenched for the moment. My dear friends who set up this trip I am forever grateful to. Thank You for such a wonderful experience!
